Community Open House, Campus Tours, and Family Meetings

Community Open House

Our Community Open House is a structured event held every year in November (November 7, 2010) and in February (February 6, 2011).   The Open House runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and includes a tour of the campus led by a faculty member or a current student.  The Open House is an excellent way to visit with current students, parents and faculty members and learn more about our classical Christian school.

Campus Tour

If you would like to tour our campus prior to submitting a student application, please call Darla Hall, Admissions Director, at (828) 681-0546.  The tour will take approximately 30 minutes.  Mrs. Hall will also answer any questions you may have at that time.

Family Meeting

A Family Meeting is required with Kay Belknap, the Head of School, for parents who wish to enroll their child(ren) at Veritas Christian Academy.   Upon receipt of a student application, Darla Hall, the Admissions Director, will contact the parents to schedule the Family Meeting.   The meeting will require approximately one hour of your time, and we do ask that both mother and father attend. The purpose of the Family Meeting is to answer any questions the parents may have, to acquaint the parents with school policy, and to share information that will enable the parents and the school to make a wise decision concerning their child's educational future.  Most people find it helpful to spend some time prior to your visit preparing some specific questions for which you seek answers.  Bring these questions with you to the visit.

Each student applicant will undergo screening to determine proper academic placement for the upcoming year.  This screening will be conducted during the time of the Family Meeting and will be administered by the Lower School Dean of Faculty or the Upper School Principal.  The screening may require one to two hours, depending upon the grade level being tested.
