Student Government
The Veritas Student Government Association has been in existence since 2002. The goal of the organization includes creating a distinct student culture through organized event planning and oversight of various student activities. Additionally, the student government seeks to establish an active voice in the conversation amongst the Veritas family, including faculty and administration. The Student Body President meets regularly with the Upper School Principal with the intention of expressing the overall student vision.
Student Government oversees several activities throughout the year. These include student sections at sporting events, the Holly Ball, movie nights, and various service projects. The Junior Class hosts the Junior/Senior Prom every spring.
Student Government is organized into two sections, the executive branch and the legislative branch. The executive branch includes the student body president, vice president, secretary-treasurer, and the activities director. These positions are established through elections each spring. Also included in the executive branch are the class presidents, who are elected in the class elections each fall. The legislative branch is made up of class officers. These include the vice presidents of each class and the historians. Each student in the high school is encouraged to share their ideas through their elected representatives.
