Middle School Visual and Performing Arts
One Voice
One Voice, our girls ensemble, is a select group of students who have demonstrated exceptional vocal talent. Under the direction of Debbie Stansell, this elite group has been asked to perform in a number of public forums before appreciative audiences. This group has been featured at our Oak Hill Tip-Off Classic as well as many other Veritas athletic events with its inspirational rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
Performing Arts
Veritas students love to perform. In Middle School Performing Arts, under the direction of Debbie Stansell, students have the opportunity to participate in chorus and drama utilizing their talents in the annual Lessons and Carols program and Grandparents' Day. In the spring, participants delight the Veritas family and friends with a musical production. In the spring of 2008, the audience enjoyed a presentation of Paintin' the Fence.
Visual Arts
All Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in a Middle School Art elective which meets two times each week. Veritas' Art Studio is equipped with two state-of-the-art pottery wheels, a kiln, slab roller, quality oil and water paints, and everything required to provide a budding artist room to develop and grow his or her creative gifts.
Video Production
This outstanding class taught by Travis Gamelin is a new addition to Veritas' Performing Arts program this year. Students utilize the lastest edition of editing computer software and top-of-the-line camcorders to create and film video productions employing the most recent technological advances. In this age of technology, this course allows students gifted in video art to develop the skills needed to impact this culture for Christ.
