WHY VERITAS: After completing 24 years on active duty in the US Air Force, Margo and I moved to Hendersonville in 1996. We soon came to the conclusion that God was leading us to start a Classical and Christian school in the area. We initially met with our pastor, Dave Desforge and the following year with Kay Belknap and Lynn Gilpin as the Veritas Steering Committee, opening the doors in August 1998 at Faith Bible Church in Mills River. The next year we moved to Arden First Baptist Church and with rapid growth expanded to our present location in January 2002. Margo and I have witnessed many of God’s miracles and provision over the last two decades. We have worked with many talented administrators, teachers, staff and volunteers. God’s hand remains on Veritas and it has been our pleasure to serve.
