On the Kick-off Day for Salt & Light, Veritas students and faculty put academics aside to serve together.
VCA works on initiatives and projects to help the community at nursing homes, food pantries, hospitals, The Very Special Art Festival, work on various projects on campus and beyond.
Our Parent Teacher Fellowship team has been coordinating various projects to provide wonderful opportunities for our students to serve those in our community and beyond. We want our students to learn the value of community service. We have included on-campus and off-campus projects that allow students to see the difference they could make by partnering with local, regional, and international charities. We also see the value of our students serving their community throughout the entire year, not just on one day. We will kick off our Salt and Light Serve-A-Thon on Friday, October 6th. We look forward to seeing the light of Christ shine through these students and volunteers.
Every grade level will be assigned a charity this year that they will serve on or off-campus, more frequently, but for shorter periods of time. These organizations will vary from the grounds beautification and trail enhancements at Veritas, to local food pantries, to a global ministry such as Samaritan's Purse.
We pray to ignite a spark in our school community that creates a movement of service throughout the year for this Annual Serve-a-thon.
